Five things to do with leftover Panettone« Back

Prosecco-Zabaglione-with-Peach-and-Panetton_9534 (1)We all love a sweet Panettone. In the beginning, we ate from it hungrily, sliced and dipped in our milky mid-morning coffee or toasted and buttered for breakfast.

We snacked on it night and day. But there is still a little more to go. So what to do? We thought we’d bring you five amazing recipes to use up those delicious leftovers.

1. Nutella Bread & Butter Pudding

This one is from food writer Ren Behan on her blog and is sure to be a winner with chocolate lovers http://www.renbehan.com/

• 250 g Arden & Amici classic Panettone, cubed
• 3 tbsp Nutella
• 3 eggs
• 2 tbsp caster sugar
• 125 ml double cream
• 500 ml full-fat milk
• Knob of butter
• Crème fraiche for serving


• Preheat oven to 160C. Lightly grease an oven-proof dish.
• Whisk up eggs, cream, milk and sugar.
• Put cubed Panettone into dish, and mix lightly mix with Nutella
• Pour egg mixture over the Panettone
• Leave to soak for ten minutes
• Bake in the over for 45 minutes

2. Panettone French Toast

The next one is adapted from the traditional bread version and a firm favourite for all Mums who need to whisk up a quick tea for hungry children.

• 1 x 100g Arden & Amici classic Panettone, sliced thickly
• 2 eggs
• orange zest
• ¼ tsp nutmeg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• unsalted butter for frying


• Whisk eggs, orange zest, vanilla and nutmeg
• Dunk slices of Panettone into mixture on both sides
• Fry on both sides until golden and crunchy

3. Bellini Dessert with Panettone and Prosecco Zabaglione

4. Winter Pudding Bombe

This one needs no further explanation other than it has been devised by Jamie Oliver and is described an ice cream Christmas pudding you can prep anytime and keep happily waiting in the freezer… and it serves 12 people!
